About Aten Ministries

The Atens have been travelling as a family for 24 years as full-time Christian Musicians, evangelists & conference leaders. Sherman & Tammy are presently travelling as a duet, the original Aten Ministries! Their son Josh, employed in Granbury & their daughter Brooke, a student at Dallas Baptist University, join them when their schedules permit. They spend an average of 40 weeks per year ministering not only here in the U.S., but internationally as well in Canada, Mexico, Bolivia, Wales, Romania, Russia, Venezuela, South Africa & the Philippines.

Through a background of music study at North Texas & Wayland Baptist University, plus seven years of ordained church staff ministry in Texas & New Mexico, God has developed in the Atens a hunger for authentic worship in the Body of Christ & a passion for Godly marriages & family life. The Atens reach churches of many denominations through their concerts, crusades, marriage & family conferences and men's & women's retreats. The focus of Aten Ministries is to be instruments and vessels of worship; not entertainment...and to encourage the family unit in spiritual & practical ways relevant to living in the 21st century.

Sherman has served as Music Director for the Conference of Texas Baptist Evangelists from 1998-2000 and then again in 2004. The Aten family are members & staff evangelists of the Acton Baptist Church, in Granbury, Texas where they make their home and ministry base.
